72:365 Happy 100th Birthday Girl Scouts

My two girls celebrated the 100th birthday of the Girl Scouts by sporting t-shirts today - Savannah also wore her Girl Scout sash all day. What an amazing organization for girls.

18:365 Cookie Talk on @WJBC

Savannah and I had the opportunity to be on WJBC AM 1230 today to talk about our Girl Scout theft, which turned into an AWESOME chance to talk up Girl Scouts in general and what the cookie sales mean to them. To listen to the interview, go to WJBC

17:365 Thief In The Night

We woke up this morning to discover my daughter had 60 boxes of Girl Scout cookies stolen out of our van last night... Needless to say our daughter Savannah was heartbroken. Her troop is one of only 2-3 in Central Illinois that had the opportunity to direct sell cookies while all other troops can ONLY take orders for delivery in March (the common way Girl Scout cookies are sold). We're hopeful that somehow the greedy dirtbag that steals from Girl Scouts will be caught... Or maybe chokes to death on a Thin Mint!!! If you live in Bloomington/Normal and someone suspicious is selling Girl Scout cookies... Please contact the Bloomington Police Department ASAP.

Busy Family Night

Thursday night was quite the busy evening for our family... we had three events going on at the same time for Andrew and Savannah. But, amazingly... they were all three at the kid's school, Bent Elementary School!

To start the evening, we had Andrew's FIRST band concert...

Andrew playing trumpet

Andrew played "Ode to Joy" on the trumpet with two other classmates

Then we went to Andrew's blue & gold banquet for Boy Scouts...

Boy Scout Pledge

Andrew proudly lead the other scouts in the Boy Scout pledge :-)

Then it was chow time on some fried chicken and potluck dishes...

While we ate, Savannah made "sit-upons" at Girl Scouts...

What a busy but awesome evening of family time!!! Laurie and I were quickly reminded how wonderful our children are and how hard they work in their activities. We are so very proud of Andrew and Savannah and the effort they put into school, band, scouts, piano, church activities, friendships, BSF, and family life.

We are blessed :-)
