The Cutting of the Turkey

Lyle asked Andrew to join him in making the first cut in the turkey… well, sort of… Andrew got to hold the fork : ) After the initial celebrative photo Lyle took over and sliced away.

The Cook's Helpers

Wade had Andrew and Savannah help him prepare the rolls for dinner… they love to be helpers in the kitchen any way they can. It wasn’t surprising that they thought the rolls were the best part of the dinner… that and the pumpkin pie that Wade made. Again… what a cook!!!

Wade, Lyle & Easton

Wade, Lyle & Easton are probably analyzing Tumnus' untrained behavior at this point on our walk in Washington Park. Especially since Tumnus decided to mark his territory around Wade's house (on the carpet). Geesh. how embarrassing.

Yes. I played a little with this picture. Just a little "aging" and "glowing" effects. Not sure anyone else will like it, but I do. and that's all that matters ;).

Tumnus & Easton

Easton (Wade’s service dog in training) and Mister Tumnus (our dog) attempted to make a friendship on Thanksgiving Day while we were in Springfield… However, Tumnus caused a little bit of a stir between them thinking he could “take him on.” But, Easton, since he was “on duty,” behaved and put up with Tumnus acting obnoxious. However, Easton got him back later after we returned to Wade’s house and he “released” him from duty… THEN Easton was ready to play and he showed his true Labrador spirit by running around, playing with his toys and chasing after Tumnus. Easton definitely had the last laugh… Especially when he got to tackle Tumnus with tail wagging furiously.

Necessity Purchase of the Day

I found a necessity purchase today at a sports store in the mall that I couldn't pass up - a gorgeous ceramic University of Florida Gators mug :-) Of course, right near it was an IU mug (Indiana University) - I knew I HAD to buy the IU mug for my Hoosier wife if I was buying the Gator mug for me... So, I did. Is that love or what?

Second Service Sunday

We all slept in today and we'll be heading to second service - even Andrew slept in, which is ReALLY amazing.

Work is really starting to slow down, although it never got very busy this fall. Between putting in a retaining wall along our driveway and the the weather, I didn't work very much this past week. I probably have two weeks of work left getting beds and containers cleaned up for customers. I have some winter arrangements to do for my regular customers and hope to do some for others through Niepagens, a local garden center I'm working at during the holiday season.

I've been trying to finalize some outdoor portraits that I took of a friend back about a month ago - I test printed them a couple days ago and I have more tweaking to do on them. The monitor on my laptop doesn't match the printed pictures, so I'm having to play somewhat of a guessing game at times on the strength of colors and contrast. The pictures look perfect on my monitor, but when printed are darker and have a stronger contrast than I want. I don't have the extra money to buy the software to correct my monitor settings, so I'll just have to learn to correctly guess right now.

I do really like the Santa picture I posted a couple nights ago - I'm hoping to order a large print to be framed and placed near our Christmas tree in the family room.

I need to finish my breakfast and get myself and the kids ready for church. I'm hoping to blog more frequently with words and not just pictures. It seems like I haven't had much to say the last couple of months and most of my posts have only been pictures - I guess that isn't necessarily bad, but it doesn't really share completely what's going on in my life and the lives of my family.

He's Back... HO HO HO!!!

First Santa sighting for 2008.

I'm working at a Christmas open house at a garden center this weekend and
the jolly man showed up. I guess I'd better start Christmas shopping soon.
Andrew already has a three page wish list for Santa. Gotta love this time of
year!!! (Except for the weather)
