Cracker Head
I went upstairs to say goodnight to the kids and as I left the room Tumnus went straight for the box of crackers I had left on the couch... He's quick to take advantage of every opportunity for a treat. However, this one he really had to work for... And then some.

Dayspring Memories
Relaxing while watching a White Sox game... They're womping on Tampa Bay, so my mind is thinking a lot about my last 24-hours....
Friday evening and all day Saturday I laughed, cried, told stories, listened to stories, sang and sang some more with several other alumni "Dayspringers." We gave a 30th reunion "concert" (more like a sing-a-long) and honored Jeff Colleen and Tom Myers for their service at Lincoln Christian College; current and former LCC music professors who originally created Dayspring, a singing group that traveled to churches, church camps, conferences, NACC, and even county fairs, Disney and England. Dayspring ceased existence 10-years ago, but reunions have become a regular occurrence.
It was great to reconnect with many friends of 20+ years ago... I can't believe that it's really been that long. Seems just like yesterday I was traveling in a 15-passenger van in the heat of the summer singing too many times to count, but loving every minute of it.
It became emotional at times... There are many memories associated with Dayspring, Jeff, my time at LCC and immediately after... But, who I am today, in a large part, is because of the up and down swings I experienced over a 10-year period while attending LCC, singing in Dayspring and living in Lincoln after I graduated.
Jeff was such a major person in my life over those 10-years... He was always there and willing to help... No matter the time of night or his busy schedule or how much of an inconvenience it was. He was the first I went to in 1994 to talk about a major life problem I was having... I still remember sitting at Wendy's in Lincoln talking with him... No judgment, no assumptions, no accusations... He just opened up his heart (and then his home) to me. He will never really know the balance he helped me attain during that "life bump."
Thank you Dayspring... Thank you Jeff. I don't know what I would have done without any of you.

Breakin' for a Blue Belt
Here's Andrew breaking a board with a side kick at a recent test for his blue belt. After not breaking a board with an elbow at his green belt test, he was determined to break a board during this test. He had some troubles at first (as did a few other kids), but when he was given one final chance, he did it.
We are so very proud of how hard Andrew works at his TKD (taekwondo). He's very committed to becoming a black belt before the age of 16. As I've said before... Andrew is far from being the most aggressive student in TKD at Victory Academy, but he is probably one of the most dedicated at learning the art.

Easter Egg-Stravaganza
What a blast watching the kids do Easter eggs... It's always a little stressful, messy and time consuming ... But, it's worth it.

Little Artist
While volunteering at Harvest Bookstore tonight at Eastview, the kids have been sitting in the atrium doing homework, reading, having a Blizzard (that was a surprise for them) and watching a video. But, Savannah took time to make a picture for me :-) She loves arts & crafts... Drawing, painting, construction paper, coloring... Anything creative... That makes me happy :-)

Whoa... That was good
For you non-twitterites, I'll repeat my "tweet" I posted prior to this picture being taken...
"Enjoying a [large] bowl of ice cream topped [very generously] with Hershey chocolate syrup and a [humongo] spoonful of peanut butter."
Yes... It was good :-) Now, back to taxes, billing gardening customers and photo editing.

Poor Mister Tumnus
After getting home from church and eating lunch, Tumnus curled up into the smallest available spot on a chair with me and just plopped his head down onto my leg and fell asleep... He's been struggling the last few days with a "cold." Lots of sneezing and very stuffed up. We feel so bad for him... Calling tomorrow to get him in to see his Dr.
